The owners of the Infloor carpeting company, Stefanie Ritterbach and Ulrich Dresing, started exploring the potential unleashed by digital printing technology in 2015, with a view to harnessing its multiple benefits to help stimulate sales of textile floor coverings. Having gained positive experience and learned a lot from the laboratory facility acquired in 2016, the company ordered its first COLARIS digital printer, 400 cm in width, from the Kufstein-based manufacturer ZIMMER AUSTRIA in mid-2017. Although Ritterbach and Dresing were mindful of the risks inherent in implementing such a cutting-edge technology, the accumulated expertise in their own company and the support from ZIMMER AUSTRIA gave them the confidence to go ahead.

They had everything in place by early 2018, and with the COLARIS printer now installed at the Herzebrock-Clarholz production site, Infloor was able to embark upon the initial proofs. After that, it didn't take long for the actual production to get underway. Thanks to the extraordinary commitment of the entire technical and design staff, but also the close, supportive relationship with ZIMMER AUSTRIA, it was possible to finally turn this project - which for so long had seemed just a pipe dream - into reality. The company proudly unveiled the impressive results of its avant-garde project at DOMOTEX 2019 in Hannover.
