ÖKOPROFIT is a network that supports companies in reducing their environmental impact while also cutting costs. Participating companies receive advice on identifying potential for optimization in environmentally relevant areas. They benefit from workshops and the exchange of experiences with other companies, as well as individual on-site consulting. The measures implemented range from technical and organizational improvements to raising employee awareness of environmental issues.

Companies that excel in environmental and climate protection can receive an award as an “ÖKOPROFIT company.” Once again, Meffert AG from Bad Kreuznach was honored with this label. Together with district climate protection manager Simon Haas and business development officer Andreas Steeg, District Administrator Bettina Dickes presented the certificate to CEO Dieter Meffert and the responsible employees Volker Mehler and Isabell Dahlheimer.

“Meffert AG impresses with its innovative sustainability approaches and plays a pioneering role in the district,” praised District Administrator Dickes. She emphasized that the renewed award as an “ÖKOPROFIT company” underlines the company's continuous efforts. “You are setting a strong example for other companies in the Bad Kreuznach district. Keep up the good work!”

Meffert AG has been participating in the ÖKOPROFIT cooperation project of the districts of Mainz-Bingen, Mayen-Koblenz, and Bad Kreuznach, as well as the city of Koblenz, since 2012. Successful savings in the areas of energy, water, and waste are the positive results. “The energy management system implemented and certified in accordance with DIN EN ISO 50001 since 2015 provides optimal support for our sustainability management. ÖKOPROFIT is a valuable addition,” explains Volker Mehler.

At its Bad Kreuznach site, the company is also increasingly focusing on renewable energies. The PV systems on the roofs of the production halls now deliver 925 kilowatts of peak power. In addition, Meffert is investing in electromobility and charging station infrastructure: “A total of 26 charging stations are available for our company's 45 electric vehicles, powered by our own PV electricity,” explains Dieter Meffert.
