Here you'll find all questions and answers around DOMOTEX and COVID-19.
Answers key questions on DOMOTEX 2021
Although two thirds of the exhibition space – about 62,000 square meters – had already been booked and a comprehensive hygiene concept had been developed to comply with COVID-19 safety regulations, Deutsche Messe AG has decided to postpone the next edition of DOMOTEX to 18 – 20 May 2021. The show was originally scheduled to take place from 15 – 18 January 2021. The reasons for the postponement are based on the latest developments regarding the worldwide rampant COVID-19 pandemic and on the fact that, in view of these developments, clients, exhibitors and visitors have asked for DOMOTEX to be held at a later date. DOMOTEX is now planning a digital conference to take place on 15 January 2021, the show’s original start date.
The next DOMOTEX takes place from 18 to 20 May 2021.
First, we will inform all parties involved about the postponement of DOMOTEX 2021. Your existing contacts are available to answer any questions you may have. Please send any questions to our central e-mail address: email@example.com.
Your registration maintains its validity unless you withdraw it until 15 September. We will start the hall planning process shortly and get in touch with you bilaterally with all relevant details.
You have the option of changing the size of your stand until the official stand confirmation has been issued. We will consider your adjustments as far as possible. You can rest assured that we are interested in finding agreeable solutions with our exhibitors with regard to this point, too.
We are very happy about your intention to showcase your products at DOMOTEX. You can register in the usual manner without needing to pay a registration fee. Just visit our " Exhibitor Shop " on the DOMOTEX website under " Become an Exhibitor ". The trade show participation contract is only concluded with our stand confirmation. Our contact partners will also be happy to support you in your personal registration process and advise you on flexible participation options, allowing you to plan your participation the ideal way, based on your own specific needs and capabilities.
Services that you ordered from independent third parties are subject to the terms agreed upon between the parties who concluded the contract. In such cases, please contact your respective contractual partner. Deutsche Messe will not reimburse any costs.
We are introducing guidance systems to make it easier for visitors to maintain their distance from each other without slowing down foot traffic in the aisles. In addition, we will make sure there is good ventilation of the entrance gates, halls and conference rooms and frequent cleaning and disinfection. Otherwise, the same rules as everywhere else will apply: Visitors need to maintain a distance of 1.50 meters and, as appropriate, wear mouth and nose protection. In addition, everyone will need to supply their personal details when registering, so that infection paths can be traced if there is a need to. Our catering will also comply with all the relevant legal requirements. And as is to be expected, we will be in close communication with the responsible health authorities and provide medical services at the exhibition center around the clock.
By the way, we are delighted at all the positive feedback we have been getting from visitors and exhibitors – feedback that underscores the important role trade fairs play in general, and how much our clientele relies on DOMOTEX as a place for gathering information, doing business and engaging in networking. This gives us added motivation as we work all-out to prepare for the Domotex, which we are sure will give the industry perfect opportunities for kicking their business back into high gear.
We are currently working on the development of digital participation formats. We would then like to offer these as additional options above and beyond physical tradeshow appearances. In the many discussions with stakeholders, it has become clear: there is a need for complementary digital formats in order to respond to the rapidly rising number of online channels in the flooring industry and to establish an international, neutral platform under the name of DOMOTEX. Therefore, DOMOTEX 2021 will take place from Thursday to Saturday (18 – 20 May) as a hybrid event: a physical show complemented by virtual formats. Visitors who, for differing reasons, will be unable to travel in May, will thus at least have an option to participate digitally. For exhibitors, the hybrid format also guarantees the wide international reach for which DOMOTEX is known: physically, in the exhibition halls and also digitally extended, using new presentation formats to generate an even wider reach.
We do, however, strongly believe that direct personal exchange within the industry is vital for the generation of new business. In this respect, DOMOTEX offers a multitude of visual and tactile trade show experiences, and is thus an excellent and cost-efficient marketing opportunity. Simultaneously, Deutsche Messe's goal is to gradually develop the 100-hectare exhibition grounds into a highly innovative, multi-functional campus. At some point in the future, DOMOTEX will also benefit from this.
The DOMOTEX team is also working on a digital conference, which will take place on 15 January 2021, which would originally have been the first day of the trade show. The keynote theme of “Cover New Ground!” is intended to encourage the industry to discuss what the “new normal in times of COVID-19” will signify for carpets and floor coverings and, regarding the design and application of flooring, to provide inspiration to think beyond existing strategies, visions and experiences and to look towards the future. More information will follow in due course.
