The Characteristics
Resilient flooring with reduced environmental impact Välinge’s Liteback® technology is a revolutionary innovation that enables a more sustainable production process for resilient flooring – without compromising quality or performance. By milling unique grooves into the backside of each panel, Liteback® removes up to 20% of the material, allowing the excess to be recycled and reused in new flooring production. This reduces the need for virgin raw materials, lowers production waste and supports a more resource-efficient manufacturing cycle. The grooves also deliver excellent noise-reducing properties, resulting in durable, high-performing floors that contribute to modern, comfortable and more sustainable environments. Material recycling in production Liteback® removes up to 20% of the original material in each panel. This excess material can be recycled and reused into production of new resilient products, reducing reliance of virgin raw materials, cutting production waste and improving overall production efficiency and sustainability. Lower weight, lower impact The material reduction results in approximately 3.5 kg less weight per flooring package, requiring less packaging material and enabling higher freight density during transportation. This leads to fewer transports and significantly lower transport-related CO₂ emissions, further reducing the product’s overall environmental footprint.
Reduced CO2 emissions By lowering the demand for virgin raw materials and enabling the reuse of production scrap, Liteback® helps reduce total CO₂ emissions associated with production of resilient flooring. Less waste, reduced use of raw materials and greater material efficiency all contribute to a more climate-efficient manufacturing process.
