In our spinning mill, we process undyed wool from various sheep breeds into yarns, using precisely defined blends. This process eliminates the need for chemical coloring. The result is naturally high-quality carpets that are durable, climate-regulating, stain-resistant, and hard-wearing. This represents sustainability at its finest.
The Characteristics
The use of natural, undyed wools means that there are no transportation routes required between the dye works and the manufactory. This eliminates the need for chemical dyes and any water consumption in the manufacturing process. As a result, we achieve energy savings in the form of reduced electricity and fuel usage. All Tisca rugs, including the Olbia Pure Nature collection, are manufactured within our factory in the European Community, further endorsing our commitment to eco-friendly production.
Sheep's wool carpets are highly suitable for allergy sufferers as they bind dust from the air, which can then be easily removed with a vacuum cleaner. This property of wool helps maintain clean room air. Unlike smooth floors, where dust tends to accumulate and get redistributed into the air, wool carpets trap and hold the dust. A new wool rug can be a significant aid for those suffering from house dust allergies. Additionally, sheep's wool carpets are climate-regulating; they absorb moisture and release it when necessary. Wool carpets are minimally prone to electrostatic charges and positively impact the indoor climate by absorbing pollutants like formaldehyde, nitrogen dioxide, and sulphur dioxide.
Pure new wool is a biodegradable and renewable resource, harvested in harmony with nature. The Olbia Pure Nature carpets are fully compostable, aligning with the cradle-to-cradle concept. Tisca rugs are always made to order, ensuring that each rug has a predetermined destination.
