Oak Eartquake 1R
Our floors use ECO Oil for an eco-friendly finish. A thin 2.7 mm top layer and short boards reduce material use and support zero-waste production. Lower grades enable full raw-material utilization, delivering sustainable design with respect for nature.
The Characteristics
Baltic Wood integrates renewable, responsibly sourced materials and long-lasting engineering to ensure that every product supports a sustainable and circular approach to wood flooring. We rely exclusively on renewable raw materials: our top layer is made of European oak from FSC®/PEFC™ certified forests, ensuring responsible forestry practices and full traceability. The core and backing layers use fast-growing softwood species, allowing efficient resource use and lowering the overall environmental footprint of our products. While we do not incorporate recycled wood directly into the flooring structure—due to strict quality and safety requirements—we actively use recycled materials within our packaging, such as recycled cardboard bands and protective elements. Additionally, our production process follows a zero-waste philosophy: all wood waste is either recovered for reuse in internal processes or used as bioenergy, minimizing landfill contributions. Our engineered floors are designed for longevity and repairability. The 3–4 mm wear layer allows for sanding, refinishing, and surface maintenance during the floor’s lifetime. The three-layer construction ensures excellent dimensional stability, reducing the risk of deformation and extending long-term durability, even under intensive everyday use. The products can also be refurbished or reused. Depending on the finish, surfaces can be re-oiled, recoated, or sanded. In renovation projects, intact boards can be removed and reinstalled in another space. This is especially easy with click-system variants, which enable non-destructive installation and dismantling, supporting material reuse. Our flooring surfaces offer strong resistance to dirt and everyday wear thanks to advanced UV oils, oxidative oils, and hybrid coatingscribe the relevant materials and their origin, the way of implementation, and provide information about available certificates.
Baltic Wood products are manufactured using defined technological processes and with materials and components whose compliance with environmental safety requirements is strictly and regularly supervised and monitored, both by external bodies and by internal plant services that inspect parameters and approve substances and components for use. The final product undergoes periodic inspections and testing carried out by national and international institutes (Germany, Finland, USA) as part of the surveillance plan associated with the certificates held, confirming high quality and low emission levels. Compliance with stringent emission requirements for TVOC and formaldehyde is confirmed by the following certificates: TÜV PROFiCert (confirming, among others, compliance with the following systems: German AgBB 2024, QNG, Blue Angel DE-UZ 176; French A+, Italian CAM for construction products, BREEAM General Level, Belgian VOC regulation, LEED v4 (outside North America)), Finnish M1, USA: FloorScore (Product emission testing by the California Department of Public Health CDPH v1.2–2017 (CA 01350)).
Exclusion of child and forced labour At Baltic Wood, we strictly exclude any form of child labour or forced labour across our entire organisation and supply chain. All our operations comply with applicable labour laws and international standards. Our suppliers undergo verification procedures, and we cooperate only with partners whose practices meet our ethical and legal requirements. Regular internal and external audits, as well as our certification schemes, support and document this compliance. Due-diligence measures within the supply chain We have established due-diligence processes that ensure responsible conduct throughout our supply chain. These measures include verification of fair wages, safe working conditions, legal employment practices, and periodic audits. We work exclusively with suppliers who meet our environmental, social, and ethical criteria, and we monitor them regularly to ensure continuous compliance. Social and ethical responsibility measures Baltic Wood implements a range of social and ethical responsibility principles consistent with internationally recognised standards. We promote fair business practices, transparency, and responsible sourcing in line with our corporate values. Our management systems and certifications support our commitment to ethical conduct, sustainable development, and respect for human rights at every stage of production.
Baltic Wood CO₂ reduction measures during production Baltic Wood applies several measures to reduce CO₂ emissions and optimise energy use. We operate a closed-loop biomass system: all wood is sourced from sustainable origins, and clean wood waste-pure biomass generated during production-is reused in our technological boiler plant. The system combusts clean biomass to recover thermal energy. The heat produced from burning pure wood fuels our on-site drying chambers as well as the production hall, significantly lowering reliance on external energy sources. Alternatives for CO₂-intensive components/processes Currently, we do not monitor this parameter. We recognise that lower-emission alternatives are available and may be implemented in the future, particularly to further reduce electricity consumption. Regional supply chains and transparent environmental data (e.g., LCA, carbon footprint) Information on regional supply chains and environmental data (including LCA and carbon footprint) is provided in the attached documentation. Take-back or recycling system for end-of-life products Baltic Wood does not offer a take-back or recycling system for end-of-life products. Non-toxic, low-emission manufacturing processes At this stage, we are not able to provide an assessment of this parameter.
