ter Hürne Olio natural oil combines three natural plant oils in a unique formula. Innovatively processed, it creates healthy, breathable, and family-friendly wood surfaces. Responsibly manufactured – for a natural, healthy indoor climate.
The Characteristics
ter Hürne Natur-Öl Olio surfaces undergo a technologically complex process consisting of three coordinated oil applications and special drying procedures. The first two oil applications (basecoat) are viscoelastic and penetrate deep into the wood structure. They optionally contain pigments that help to give the product the desired color appearance. When dry, approximately 60% of the solids remain on the surface, which significantly increases the performance of the surface (layer thickness) during use. The final oil application (topcoat) also has the characteristic properties of a wax and ensures the matt, natural appearance of the wood surface. The special multi-layer process has the advantage that each oil application contributes to the overall resistance of the surface. Similar to the lotus effect, it remains very easy to care for and offers a high level of care comfort because it repels dirt and water like an impregnation.

The formula for ter Hürne Olio Natur oil is based on a combination of several natural oils, with sunflower oil and safflower oil being the main ingredients. The combination of different oil components produces optimal quality characteristics. The wood surface looks particularly attractive, as the oil slightly evens out visual contrasts, creating a fine, nuanced appearance. This effect is also due to the higher proportion of Olio Natur oil, which allows better penetration of the material. Many properties make ter Hürne Olio surfaces particularly healthy floors. The wood surface is free of harmful monomers, as confirmed by the renowned Fraunhofer Institute. The ter Hürne finish is also free of benzophenone, a substance that is classified as very harmful in cosmetics. The specially formulated oil recipe forms the basis for open-pored, breathable wood surfaces. These are also saliva-resistant and sweat-proof, making them particularly family-friendly. The entire recipe promotes the healthy living properties of real wood and visibly and tangibly enhances the intense experience of the material.

The way in which the Olio oil bonds with the wood is also thanks to the latest technological developments, in which ter Hürne has invested in its high-tech production line. Using what is known as reverse roller technology, the substance is worked into the surface with gentle pressure against the grain of the wood. This allows it to penetrate deep into the recesses and pores of the wood structure. Excess oil is immediately reabsorbed during this process and can be returned to the process. This ensures that the oil is distributed homogeneously and evenly throughout. This technology is highly innovative and creates the modern, elegant appearance of a valuable wood surface. Its high user-friendliness significantly extends the product's service life and renewal cycles, which proves to be very sustainable.
