CeGe Green Cold Chemical Welding for PVC Flooring
Cold welding often relies on flammable THF solvents with high VOCs and strict storage limits. CeGeGreen replaces them with a non-flammable, THF-free formulation that bonds PVC without hazardous fumes—improving safety, reducing emissions and lowering storage and transport restrictions.
The Characteristics
CeGe Green has been developed to make PVC welding both effective and genuinely environmentally responsible. Traditional cold welding mixtures rely on THF and other volatile solvents that release fumes, require protective equipment and generate fire and transport hazards. CeGe Green was created as a safer and more sustainable alternative by removing these substances entirely. The formulation produces no harmful emissions and is non-flammable, eliminating multiple risks along the entire value chain. The product contributes to a healthier indoor environment for installers and end users. Its non-flammable nature means no special restrictions for transport or storage, reducing logistical burdens and fire-related risks. Sustainability is integrated into the product’s practical design. An opened tube can be resealed and reused, which reduces material waste. CeGe Green also requires no special nozzles, avoiding drying, clogging and unnecessary disposal of single-use plastic components. Because the mixture has a longer solidification time, it can be applied during installation rather than during a second visit. This saves time, travel and associated emissions while allowing precise adjustments without surface damage or installation waste. Although cold welding is primarily used for heterogeneous and cushion vinyl floors, CeGe Green also works on homogeneous floors, pipes and profiles. It shows that high-performance installation can be achieved without the environmental and safety drawbacks of solvent-based welding products. CeGe Green offers the flooring industry a practical, low-emission solvent and resource-efficient welding grounded in both sustainability and user safety.
CeGe Green was developed to close a significant health gap in the cold-welding market. Conventional welding mixtures typically contain THF and other volatile solvents, which release hazardous vapours, require respiratory masks, are classified as corrosive or severely irritating, and carry known risks related to cancer and fertility. The goal behind CeGe Green was to eliminate these risks while preserving the functional benefits of cold welding. The product produces no harmful vapours, and does not require respiratory protection. Its safety profile is comparable to household dishwashing detergents: mild skin or eye irritation is possible, but the formulation is non-corrosive, non-flammable, and safe to handle indoors without specialised equipment. This provides installers with a significantly healthier working environment than other alternatives. Our Safety Data Sheet confirms that CeGe Green contains no carcinogenic, no mutagenic, and no fertility-impairing substances. The absence of corrosive agents and flammability means that the product carries no special restrictions for transport, storage or on-site use. This reduces occupational exposure risks and improves safety for everyone involved in the installation process. CeGe Green demonstrates that high-performance PVC welding can be achieved without exposing workers or users to the hazardous vapours, corrosive properties or toxic classifications found in conventional welding mixtures. It represents a genuinely healthier and low-emission solution for the flooring industry.
As a Swedish SME, we fully comply with national and EU labour laws, which strictly prohibit child labour, forced labour and unsafe working conditions. All employees are protected under Swedish workplace safety and collective-agreement standards. We conduct basic due-diligence by working only with suppliers who meet EU labour, safety and REACH requirements. This includes reviewing documentation such as SDS information, material sourcing statements and safety routines to ensure that no ethically questionable materials or practices enter our supply chain. Our participation in Klimatlöftet, a regional climate-responsibility programme, reinforces our social and environmental commitments. The programme provides expert support and helps us integrate responsible practices, reduce emissions and prepare for future regulatory and customer expectations. Together, these measures ensure that our product development and operations are aligned with high social, ethical and environmental standards.
Our production is powered entirely by fossil-free electricity, and CeGe Green is formulated as a low-emission, non-toxic product. Unlike conventional cold-welding mixtures, our process generates no production waste: the mixture does not dry until it contacts PVC, mixing vessels and equipment never need washing. We simply seal the containers and restart production, saving energy, labour time and eliminating chemical waste. The product also helps reduce emissions in the value chain. Because of low volatile solvents and hazardous substances, customers benefit from a lower carbon and chemical footprint, fewer transport restrictions and easier, safer handling. CeGe Green integrates into the PVC surface and does not require separation at end-of-life, supporting efficient recycling workflows. We prioritise regional and transparent sourcing and participate in Klimatlöftet, a regional climate-responsibility programme that guides companies in reducing emissions, improving resource efficiency and preparing for future sustainability requirements. Through this initiative we work methodically with climate actions in our operations, transport choices, energy use and product development. These measures ensure that CeGe Green is produced with low emissions, minimal waste and responsible energy use, while offering customers a significantly cleaner and more sustainable alternative to traditional solvent-based welding products.
