BODEN SCHÄTZE - Textiles on the Ground and Underfoot
It is about the perception and understanding of textiles on the floor: In the exhibition "BODEN SCHÄTZE" the textile design students of the Staatliche Akademie der Bildenden Künste Stuttgart present exhibits from the design project of the same name and the knitting project FUNDUS FARBE.
From the Concept to the finished Rug
The BODEN SCHÄTZE exhibition shows individual steps from the creative process: from design to pattern development to the finished carpet. The technical spectrum ranges from appliqué, dyeing processes, yarn production, re- and upcycling, embroidery, knitting and tufting to carpet knotting and weaving.
Within the framework of these projects, the students investigated historical as well as modern textiles for floors - from unique handcrafted items to mass-produced products - and actively dealt with colors, patterns, materials and their textures as well as their technical origin. In addition to great technical freedom, questions about design, modernity, environmental awareness, and the practicality and limits of textile floor coverings also played an essential role.
The finished carpets were created in close collaboration between the students and the company Tisca, which realized one design from each of the different projects using their materials and techniques in their manufactory in Transylvania.
Thoughts & Impressions of the textile Students
IN FLUX

Lucy Ann Guth
EMOTION-COLOUR-PROCESS
The focus of this joint project by the three students was to capture a wide variety of sensory impressions in color inspirations and translate them into knitted textiles.
