Dr Vanessa Brady OBE is the founder of The Society of British and International Design (SBID)and an international interior designer, with over 30 years experience in the design industry.
Under Vanessa’s direction, SBID became the UK’s representative organisation at the European Council of Interior Architects (ECIA) in 2009, its founding year, positioning the UK alongside its peers to set and and develop British standards for an interior design professional. With the overall objective to elevate interior design within both commercial and residential spheres, Vanessa represents the interests of the industry at cross-party government meetings at the House of Commons and the House of Lords. She is also a regular visitor to the Bank of England where she represents risks and current trading conditions of the interior design industry for SME, and works with the British Consulate overseas to promote the industry of interior design for export. An ambassador for the Department of International Trade (DIT, formerly UKTI) for business and manufacture of interior design, she promotes the ‘Britain is Great’ campaign around the world for the creative industries.
