"Design is about sustainable responsibility, design is about beauty as a social value, design is part of our history and culture, of our material and cultural mind. Design shapes our life. In the 21st century, design only works if it is based on sustainability principles". Marina-Elena Wachs is Professor of Design Theory at Hochschule Niederrhein University of Applied Sciences and has taught materials and design and intercultural design at art academies in Germany and Sweden.
Since 2008, she has her own consultancy, Marina-Elena Wachs – Material & Design, specializing consulting and development, spaces and workshops, trend and feasibility studies, and expert reports.
