When DOMOTEX 2026 opens its doors in Hanover, spring will be just around the corner. And as temperatures rise, so does the urge to get things done. There are numerous projects in and around the house that need tackling. More storage space in the attic, new bath paneling, or a fancy outdoor kitchen? What can be quickly visualized in the mind's eye often requires detailed planning—as well as deciding which drywall solutions are best suited to the project at hand. Wall specialist Erfurt from Wuppertal points to a universally correct answer that can be found in its portfolio: KlimaTec RapidBoard.

According to Erfurt, this robust lightweight panel is every DIY enthusiast's ace in the hole – because it simply always fits, both indoors and outdoors, as well as in damp rooms. And whether in terms of functionality, ecology, or handling, this all-rounder is sure to impress in many ways. The panel consists of 96 percent recycled waste glass (expanded glass granulate), is break-resistant, highly durable and resilient, yet also extremely lightweight. This low weight of only five kilograms per square meter guarantees the user easy processing. What's more, the board can be cut to size with minimal dust and easily attached with the appropriate system components (KlimaTec Systemkleber RB 10 adhesive and Silikat-Spachtel filler for indoor use) or screwed onto stud frames. Depending on your preferences and the area of application, the board can then be easily covered with wallpaper, plaster, or tiles. Erfurt also gives top marks in terms of healthy living, as RapidBoard is said to be particularly low in emissions and even prevent mold growth.

How does the latter work? Thanks to the low thermal conductivity of the panel, the wall surface temperature rises. Condensation is less likely to settle here, which reduces the formation of damp spots and thus mold growth. A nice side effect: the faster heating of the wall surfaces also saves up to 11 percent in heating energy. Since the lightweight panel is also diffusion-open, the humidity in the room is buffered and regulated – making it suitable for use even in bathrooms, kitchens, or laundry rooms. RapidBoard also plays to its strengths of weather resistance and flexibility in outdoor applications.
