The Oriental Weavers Group has been a regular DOMOTEX exhibitor for many years, its exhibits a constant and ever-fresh source of amazement and inspiration. The company, founded in Cairo in 1979 by Mohammed Farid Khamis, may have started out as a humble single-loom operation, but its success story was always part of a much larger, older narrative stretching back thousands of years to the linen textile traditions of Upper Egypt. Today, Oriental Weavers is one of the world’s biggest manufacturers of machine-made carpets and a world leader in the field of inkjet-printed tufted carpets.

Floor coverings, cushion coverings and tapestries in perfect harmony

For its interpretation of the " Floor & More " dimension of the ATMYSPHERE keynote theme, Oriental Weavers is putting together a perfectly coordinated ensemble of floor coverings, cushion coverings and tapestries to create an integrated showcase of wellbeing and beauty. At the heart of its showcase is "Seychelles", a modern machine-woven tapestry featuring an atmospheric, abstract pattern in cool tones. Available in five sizes, "Seychelles" forms a sublime symphony with "Kelim", a range of cushion coverings, also by Oriental Weavers, sporting vintage designs in warm tones. The coverings work perfectly on cushions, squabs, pillows and bolsters, creating highly effective transitions between the "Seychelles" tapestries and Oriental-style floor coverings. "Kelim", which is available in three sizes and is made of a hard-wearing mix of chenille, viscose and polyester, adds essential notes to create wonderfully harmonious all-of-room atmospherics of the kind envisaged by the "Floor & More" theme at DOMOTEX 2020.
