The skilled trades forum will bei moderated by Norbert Strehle, expert for the floor, screed and parquet laying trade as well as former director of the Institute for Flooring Technology.

The skilled trades forum will cover the following topics and speakers:

  • Dr. Andreas Rapp, Head of the Institute for Professional Sciences in Civil Engineering at the University of Hannover, will explain how to deal with surface damage on parquet floors under the heading "UV or natural oiled, matt sealed, brushed or chamfered".
  • Richard Kille from the Institute for Floor and Interior Decorating (IFR) will sketch out the various renovation options offered by multi-layer modular floor coverings (MMF) and answer the question of which floating floor coverings pay off for the skilled trades and the potential risks involved in floating installation.
  • Karsten Krause from K+R DEKO GmbH Raumausstattung will discuss the light fastness of floor coverings in the zone between expectations and reality.
  • Rainer Holtz from the Digital Crafts Competence Center will provide useful information on how skilled trades enterprises can do more to protect their cyber security.
  • Walter Pirk from the Heinz Piest Institute for Skilled Trades Technology at the Leibniz University of Hannover will represent the Digital Crafts Competence Center at DOMOTEX 2020. His topic: "The path to a digital strategy".
  • Rüdiger Dicke, sales manager at Unifloor, will provide valuable tips on social media and online marketing for skilled trades firms.
  • And last but not least, Shaper Tools GmbH is offering an informative excursion into the not-too-distant future under the title of "How can robotics be used to support state-of-the-art craftsmanship?"
  • The German Association of Parquet and Flooring Technology (BVPF) will also be making an appearance at the show and will participate in the various formats. Other partners such as the German Wholesale Association Heim & Farbe (GHF), the Digital Crafts Competence Center and the Decor Union will also be represented at the event.
