A typical carpet machine creel contains 100,000 feet (30,480m) of tubing. This tubing is now made out of nylon 12 or HDPE, both of which are oil based. Tuftco's Nylon SLK Bio is bio based. it is made out of renewable Nylon 11.
Die Eigenschaften
Nylon 11 is made from renewable castor beans which releases oxygen while growing.
It takes approximately 7.7 barrels of oil to make 100,000 feet of Nylon 12 tubing.
