DOMOTEX 2019, 11 - 14 January
Modern technology not only drives today's society from a cultural standpoint, but also from a design perspective. When manipulated, deliberately produced analog and digital errors can be made into a beautiful flooring collection - Glitch Art.Inspired by the modern technologically driven culture in which we live, Glitch Art is nostalgic yet relevant, all at the same time. Technology is currently driven by user experience and seamless interface, but several decades ago this was the exception, not the rule. Easily corruptible floppy disks and computer screens with images burned into the display dominated the technological landscape.Today, these glitches and malfunctions are manipulated to create a form of art that is designed, displayed, and discussed as a viable and relevant form of expression. Four coordinating visuals - Mainboard, Hub, Crosstalk, and Circuit - combine to form a seamless interface to drive user experience. Geometric, linear, and abstract elements come together to form a highly designed collection that is beautiful and buggy.
