It is a tree variety common in Hungarian forests. Its wood is white-pink; sapwood cannot be separated from the heartwood. The homogenous wood is used for manufacturing parquet with undivided covering layer in steamed conditions. Its grain is less sharp and non- remarkable. The basic colour is nicely reddish. A typical biological change for beech is dark-brownish discolouration of the false heartwood, which does not follow the outline of the annual rings. Reddish-pink colour, nearly homogenous basic colour with few and small knot that are hardly different from the basic colour. It contains brownish, reel-like stripes. There can be significant difference in colour between the parquet strips.
