Company profile

Zollanvari is a family-owned carpet wholesaler/retailer established in 1903. Our carpets embody the spirit of Persian carpet design and weaving. This profound understanding of the splendour and profusion of the Persian weaving aesthetic informs our production, making it unique and timeless - qualities that have established our name as a global trail-blazer in creating carpet art. Our main production centre is in Shiraz. From there the orders are distributed to an extensive network of excellent nomadic weavers. Zollanvari cultivates and nurtures personal relationships with numerous nomadic tribes in Iran - a close relationship that has resulted in a resourceful and ever-developing production of carpets. Our carpets are hand-knotted using hand-carded and hand-spun wool, dyed with natural vegetable dyes. Washing, finishing, customer services and shipping are in Tehran. The sixth generation of Zollanvaris is active in Hamburg, Cape Town, Wuhan (Hubei), China & Secaucus, USA

Highlights from our Designer Isfahan Collection include stunning new interpretations of classical Persian carpet designs including Floral Cartouches and more

Flatweaves: Tribal & Minimalist

Our tribal flatweaves or kilims (known as gelims in Farsi) are traditional colourful weavings with bold geometric and floral designs. They are woven by Luri and Ghashgha'i nomads who interpret centuries' old designs and motifs that have been handed down from generation to generation. Gatchme is a mixed-technique more

A Gabbeh is a hand-woven pile rug characterised by an abstract design that relies upon open fields of colour and playful geometry. Gabbehs are woven by tribal women and are principally used as 'bedding blankets' by the nomadic tribes of the Zagros Mountains of Iran, including Kurdish, Luri and Ghashgha'i more

Transitional Tribal: Zollanvari introduced Baluch Soumaks to the market for the first time in collaboration with Baluch nomads from eastern Iran. These weavings combine kilim, soumak and pile weaving techniques to create a jewel-like surface that gives the rugs depth and a three-dimensional appearance. more
