Good Reasons for Taking part

DOMOTEX 2012 was a resounding success with 45,793 trade visitors from 82 countries taking part. 54% of the trade visitors came from outside the host nation Germany.

This figure marked double digit growth in the number of attendees. The audience came from Eastern Europe, but also from North America and the Far East, and was significantly bigger than in previous years. Naturally, the exhibitors were pleased by this result, with some 81% reporting tangible benefits from their trade fair participation.

Major Increase in Visitor Figures

DOMOTEX enjoys the no. 1 position as the leading international showcase and meeting-place for the global market. This is underlined by the figures for 2012 which reveal a 24% increase in the number of trade visitors from across the world.


  • 97% of all visitors rated DOMOTEX in general as "good" to "very good"
  • 92% intend to visit DOMOTEX again in 2013
  • 91% would recommend others to visit DOMOTEX
  • 94% reported real benefits from their trade fair visit

Opportunity to meet top Decision-makers

Most of the visitors were professionals who are closely involved in their company's decisionmaking, especially in purchase decisions. Buyers from the specialist retail and wholesale trade, architects, interior designers and the skilled trades are always well represented - their numbers rose substantially in 2012.


DOMOTEX 2012 registered increased visitor numbers from Germany as well as from foreign markets - in particular from Eastern Europe, North America and the Far East. The very international character of the event ensures a global audience. This means that exhibitors do not need to spend time and money on overseas business trips.

Trends and Design Highlights

DOMOTEX 2012 put the spotlight on the design trends and developments in flooring that companies are marketing for the coming season. One of the main themes that can be seen across the sector is the shift of emphasis from utility flooring and function to flooring as a lifestyle statement.

The concept of Customized Living was evident in every exhibition hall. Carpets and floor coverings have assumed an increasingly important role in stylish interior design.

The special displays and presentations again proved to be real crowd-pullers.

This was especially true of the highly popular Wood Flooring Summit, which brought the parquet and laminate flooring sectors together and was highly praised by exhibitors and visitors alike.


Visitors were impressed by the unsurpassed innovativeness of the products from across the entire sector. The numerous new product trends and design highlights had a positive effect: 90% of the trade visitors said they would recommend a visit to DOMOTEX to others.
