Guided Tours with by big-name architects and designers

The guides include some of the big names in architecture, design and specialist journalism who will provide insights into the exciting innovations and latest trends in the industry.
Point of departure for the Guided Tours is the Innovations@DOMOTEX Area in Hall 6, F30 (you can try to register onsite for a tour).

We offer two different types of tours.

1. "Guided Tours INNOVATIONS@DOMOTEX"

From a personal perspective: internationally renowned architects, interior designers and product designers take visitors on seven tours of the trade show's highlights, presenting interesting products and innovative companies from their perspective.

MATERIALS . SPACE . IDENTITY "As an interior designer I am constantly searching for new and surprising combinations and applications of materials. Innovations@DOMOTEX presents a selection of the latest technology and surfaces in floor coverings. Together with you and the manufacturers, I will discuss the special features of the products on show and talk about how they affect their look and feel as well as their application and durability."

Lien Tran founded her architecture and design studio in 2006. She and her team have since worked on international projects that draw on both Asian and Western influences. She studied interior design at the Universities of Applied Sciences and Arts in Coburg and Hildesheim, and has worked for Elsa Prochazka in Vienna and Yasmine Mahmoudieh in Berlin.

With his usual high level of commitment, Stefan Diez will be chairing the Innovations@DOMOTEX jury for the fourth time and will also be a tour guide at this year’s trade show. Diez has been one of Germany’s most in-demand industrial designers for many years and designs for renowned international companies such as Hay, e15, Emu and Thonet.

Lisa Pavitschitz studied interior design in St. Pölten at the New Design University. After employment in various offices in Vienna, St. Pölten and New York, since 2016 she has worked for INpuls, where she is responsible for the planning and implementation of a number of projects in the fields of workplace, retail, private home, trade fair and exhibition design. In this office she is also responsible for press work and research.

FLOORFEELING "Floors are for interior architects often the basis for the design of a room. Therefore we try to find new innovative materials, well done handcrafted works and fresh impressions of the unexpected. Let's try to find the new 'Floorfeeling'!"

Following studies at Rosenheim University of Applied Sciences and a lengthy stay in the USA, interior designer Dorothee Maier also trained as a tailor. After starting her career at Schmidhuber + Partner in Munich and Mattheo Thun & Partners in Milan, she founded her studio Meierei in 2003.

TREASURE HUNT "Dive | Miss | Inspire | Search | Find | Can there ever be anything new? We will DIVE together into the world of surfaces, be INSPIRED to SEARCH for innovations – and will ultimately FIND what we had been MISSING."

After studying at Rosenheim University of Applied Sciences, Sabine Krumrey worked in various interior design studios in southern Germany. She opened her own studio in 1993, with Susanne Brandherm coming on board in 1999. The duo design concepts for shops and trade fairs, healthcare facilities, hotels, offices and private clients.

SUPERSOCIAL "My tour focuses on products that respect our world in an intelligent way. It's all about environmentally conscious and sustainable design: products that are not just functional but are also contemporary, stylish and durable, and materials and surfaces that are made with an eye to the future."

The architect founded her studio, which focuses on clinic, wellness, shop and fashion design, in 2001 after obtaining her doctorate from RWTH Aachen University. As well as contributing numerous articles to trade journals and specialist publications, Regina Dahmen-Ingenhoven regularly lectures on her approach to design.

LATEST TRENDS "When entering a new space the floor is the first thing we notice, even before walls, ceilings or furniture. The floor has the biggest impact on the overall atmosphere of a room. Let us take a curated journey discovering the latest trends in floor design. I am looking forward to discussing topics such as look-and-feel, sustainability, costs and durability of floors with you."

Together with partner Julius Reimann, Jana Vonofakos runs the Interior Design Office VRAI, which specializes in fitting out hotels, restaurants and spas. After training in technical drawing and studying interior design, she started her career working on international hotel projects for the Hamburg studio JOI Design.

2. "Application-specific tours" (Dialogues)

The organizers are expanding the tour program to include application-specific tours which directly address the themes covered in the Innovations@DOMOTEX Dialogues. The focus themes at next year's Dialogues will be Future Living, Trend Spotting, Space & Acoustics and Consulting & Sustainability.

This part of the tour program is aimed primarily at creatives from the architecture, interior architecture and interior design scenes who are at DOMOTEX scouting for new ideas on floor covering applications. Each of these new tours is timed to depart immediately after its corresponding Dialogue.
